Universal joint assembly and crimping/staking machine, developed for an Indian automotive steering assembly manufacturer, is fully automatic.

We knew that this UJ assembly machine would be a wild brain teaser but we accepted this challenge.
The Universal Joint Assembly machine is fully automatic with a one button operation start.
Upon starting, the two needle bearings are released from Bearing Station 1 and Bearing Station 2.
They roll in and settle on the pre-alligned spider and two yokes.
They are then crimped or staked in position so that they dont come out of the assembly.
The assembly is re-alligned and in a similar fashion, bearings are crimped on the other two free ends face the fixture.
Thus the Universal Joint Needle Bearing Crimping/ Staking Assembly is complete.
Optionally facility for preloading the bearings can also be provided.
Fully controlled by CNC modules, there is little room for error.
All operations and sizes are perfectly to the requirement.
With this we have finalised orders for 15 more customised machines for universal joint assemblers throughout the world.
