Pilz offers support for installing safety systems
Pilz Automation Technology will assist with installing and commissioning machinery, ensuring that safety-related control systems are properly implemented and tested.
Individuals have benefited by improving their knowledge and competency, gaining skills and, in the case of courses accredited by IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) and City and Guilds (C and G), obtaining qualifications that are widely recognised by employers.
Similarly, companies sending staff on the courses have improved the knowledge of their staff, raised the overall competency of the company, and provided staff with the skills that enable operational efficiency to be enhanced while also helping to ensure compliance with current safety legislation and regulations.
The following standard courses have covered regulations and standards: 'Machine builders regulations and standards'; 'Design of hardwired electrical safety-related control systems for machinery'; 'Requirements for maintaining plant and machinery - safety-related controls'; 'Machinery safety' (City and Guilds accredited); 'Managing Safely combined with machinery safety and work equipment' (IOSH accredited); and 'Introduction to IEC 61508'.

Tailored courses have been created to cover various aspects of legislation, regulations and standards, as well as specific applications for Pilz products.
In some cases it is a matter of shifting the balance within an existing course, or taking a standard course and adding particular material, while other courses have been built by taking elements of several standard courses and combining them to suit the trainees' needs.
Where required, bespoke course have been created 'from the ground up'.
Plans are now well advanced for introducing new standard courses in 2006, several of which will be accredited by IOSH or C and G.
A course schedule for 2006 is available on request and will shortly be published on the Pilz website.
