Anti-slip matting makes wet floors safe
to walk on

Winchester Cathedral, the spectacular 11th century heritage building, has solved a re-occurring problem by using Heronair matting from Plastex Due to high water table levels, the crypt under the Ladies' Chapel is prone to flooding and often closed

The 'Friends of the Cathedral' wanted to increase access for visitors beyond the summer while also protecting the sandstone floor from pedestrian traffic damage when wet.

International matting manufacturer Plastic Extruders (Plastex) solved the problem with a high-performance safety matting that not only creates defined access walkways but also prevents damage from shoes.

At the same time, the open grid format allows air to flow through the matting and therefore helps the floor to dry naturally.

Because it is very flexible and only 10mm thick, the matting contours very well over the uneven surface and without the need for any special edging.

Heronair is constructed with flexible PVC hollow ribs welded to cross-directional underbars.

The etched surface provides high slip resistance and cushioning, which enhances comfort underfoot.

In addition, the hollow tubes help to insulate, which is particularly beneficial on a cold floor.

This multi-purpose, hard-wearing and economical floor covering is widely used in working environments.

It is available in black, supplied in 10m rolls and in widths of 50, 75 and 100cm.

Samples of Heronair and information are available from Plastic Extruders. Request a free brochure from Plastic Extruders ...
