Jobshop helps medical device manufacturer
Jobshop helps medical device manufacturer improve efficiency with full traceability
Jobshop manufacturing and production control software is helping medical device manufacturer Sterimedix to improve efficiency throughout the company's operations.
Founded more than 10 years ago, the company is one of a small number of companies to manufacture a complete range of single use products for ophthalmic surgery.
Because the manufacture of medical devices requires stringent quality systems and procedures, Sterimedix looks for equally high standards when it comes to sourcing the tools and equipment it uses to run its business.
Jobshop delivers high value functionality, improved control, speed and accuracy - and of great importance to Sterimedix - full and detailed traceability of all manufactured and purchased elements.
"We continually work to improve both our products and service, which is why we saw the need to replace our manual systems," explains Nicola Cullen at Sterimedix.
"Jobshop was recommended to us so we visited a company that was using the software and the various features were demonstrated".
"Our observations, along with the information we gathered on the range of modules available and the training and support included in the package, all pointed to this being a good investment for us, especially in terms of traceability as well as time-saving and streamlining operations".
Jobshop 9.2 provides manufacturers with a powerful and comprehensive business management system that is intuitive and user-friendly.
It is particularly strong in the areas of shop floor data collection, MRP, scheduling, reporting and financial management.
"Jobshop gives manufacturers the tools to take full control of their processes, reduce operating costs and increase profitability," says Peter Roost, MD of Jobshop.
"The system's powerful analysis and forecasting capabilities enables them to accelerate their transition to leaner and more agile manufacturing methods".
Designed and developed using a powerful 4GL programming tool kit, Jobshop is a true Windows application, providing users with a fully definable desktop environment.
Drag and drop commands and Windows Explorer type Treeview BOM displays ensure the fast and accurate creation and checking of all levels within the product structure, as well as instant updating of BOMs to accommodate customer-specified options.
Jobshop also features hot key searches, rapid drill down tools for instant access to required data, and the power of Crystal Reports to enable analyses to be customised quickly and easily to individual user requirements.
Starting with plan times and BOMs, Sterimedix is installing all the modules in stages, gradually inputting all its data into the new system.
The company hopes to go live within two to three months.
