Within minutes of Metalworking 2002 exhibition opening, Linde Heavy Truck Division confirmed its order for a 2000kN x 4000mm pressbrake.

Boasting one of the most modern factories in the industry, Linde Heavy Truck Division has invested heavily in state-of-the-art production equipment.

This in conjunction with a highly trained and motivated workforce ensures their trucks meet the most rigorous quality and engineering standards.

The latest manufacturing techniques, combined with unique product design features, to ensure the lowest possible production costs, excellent reliability levels and longer operating periods between maintenance schedules.

The new manufacturing plant is situated in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales where this new Edwards Pearson pressbrake will be located.

Purchased specifically for Linde's small counterweight trucks, the PR8 will form the bulk of the components for the Model 353 chassis.

Like its customer, Edwards Pearson has a history, second to none, in the design and manufacture of CNC Pressbrakes.

Originally formed in 1910 Edwards Pearson built up a reputation as a supplier of high quality sheet metalworking machines,and as part of the Beyeler Group, it boasts a design team of engineers second to none with in the industry.

It prides itself on designing and producing standard pressbrakes and special machines to suit individual customer1s requirements, from 300kN to 45MN (30 - 4500 tonf).

Linde Heavy Truck Division's Mark Steer commented " the Edwards Pearson PR8 is exactly the machine we were looking for, excellent technical specification, the right size and, most importantly, the right price." Edwards Pearson Managing Director, David Larcombe was equally delighted " We could not have had a better start to the show, both our company's place a very high emphasis on quality and reliability.

The fact that we supplied Linde's Basingstoke factory with a similar machine four years ago was evidently a factor" The PR8 pressbrake is 2000kN x 4000mm with CNC control and hydraulic upper tool clamping.

The machine has increased daylight and stroke to accept both standard and special height tools.

The Conformatic Tool Magazine has been designed to cater for the special tools required by the customer, allowing tool changeovers in seconds.
