High tensile steel blind rivet nuts
offered
Two high tensile steel options for blind rivet nuts include an options with a tensile strengths of 480N/mm2 recommended for use with 8/8 material screws and 600N/mm2 for 10.9 and 12.9 screws.
Recently the demand for better performance from blind rivet nuts has increased particularly from the automotive industry and now from applications in general engineering and construction This has been driven by the need to use this more versatile fixing method in place of weld nuts and clinch nuts that need to be placed early in the production process

Traditionally blind rivet nuts are produced from low carbon steel and heat treated for consistent riveting, reducing potential thread strength and providing weak torque to turn performance.
These problems have been addressed in the past by the introduction of sophisticated heat treatment processes coupled with hexagon and knurled body shape, these changes have gone some way towards solving particular problems.
Poly Fasteners now offer two new high tensile material options the 'T' material option with a tensile strength of 480N/mm2 recommended for use with 8/8 material screws and the 'C' material with a tensile strength of 600N/mm2 recommended for use with 10.9 and 12.9 screws.
Application tests have show these materials to perform to specific customers specifications while also providing considerable extra clamp and torque to turn results.
These new materials are available across all ranges and types of open ended rivet nuts M3-M14 plus imperial equivalents and can equally be applied to specials.
This new production method allows us to produce smaller and medium quantity runs as well as high volume.
