PRIME Faraday announces new round of
SPARK awards
The PRIME Faraday Partnership has announced a call for the second round of SPARK awards aimed at forging relationships between SMEs and HEIs (Higher Education Institutes).
The PRIME Faraday Partnership, in conjunction with the DTI, the London Development Agency, South West of England Regional Development Agency and One NorthEast, is pleased to announce a call for the second round of SPARK awards aimed at forging relationships between SMEs (small to medium sized enterprises) and HEIs (Higher Education Institutes) The grants, which are of a fixed value of GBP 5,000 each, will be awarded to the relevant HEI to tackle a problem of direct relevance to the SME

Industrial CASE studenships are available
The PRIME Faraday partnership is pleased to announce that it has a new allocation of industrial CASE studentships available for the financial year 2004/2005.
In effect, these grants will not only help the SME tackle a problem they are currently facing, but will also lead to longer-term relationships between the educational institutes and the business community.
Applications are actively encouraged within the PRIME area (PRoducts with Interdependent Mechanical and Electronic components) and particularly, although not exclusively, relating to: * Novel packaging of electronic/electromechanical devices.
* Getting MEMs to market.
* Novel power sources for portable applications.
* Electronic integration in medical devices.
The awards have been designed with minimal bureaucracy, in keeping with the value of the grant, with an online application form that must be received by 19th November 2003.
