Standby and auxiliary power generating equipment supplier has added 56 super-silenced generators and 35 fuel tanks to a large stock of generators, lighting towers and equipment.

Power4 from fox and cooper is adding to its comprehensive portfolio of generators, lighting towers and associated equipment with the purchase of 56 super-silenced generators and 35 fuel tanks This is part of the company's ongoing strategic plan to significantly grow the business over the next 12 months

As well as its investment in the latest equipment, Power4 has also added a number of people to its Technical Services division, which works with businesses to assess, design and implement an in-house or long term power generation solution.

The company has also recently launched a Business Continuity Planning (BCP) unit to assist companies in developing a back-up power plan and help them achieve compliance with the BS 7799 (Business Continuity) Standard.

Commented Paul Wilson, managing director of Power4: "As a specialist in maintaining and optimising an organisation's power and lighting requirements, we have made a significant investment to ensure we continue to serve our growing customer base with the highest levels of quality, service and equipment to which they have become accustomed.

We are constantly looking to add to our portfolio to ensure we can provide businesses with the latest in temporary and permanent power solutions." The 56 super-silenced generators have been purchased from a number of major original equipment manufacturers including FG Wilson, SDMO and ArcGen, and range from 14kVA - 330kVA.

The 35 fully bunded, 2000 litre capacity fuel tanks were acquired from Western Environmental and comply with the all the latest environmental legislation.

All of the equipment is up to the highest specification and can be used in potentially hazardous environments, including petrochemicals.

Wilson said: "You can only utilise the latest technology if you have a technical team in place that understands a company's requirements.

By taking this approach, we can assess whether a hire or permanent installation is the better option for an organisation." He concluded: "At the recent annual CBI conference, 'UK Plc' voiced this winter's anticipated energy shortage as its biggest headache.

It is because of this, the rise in flooding and the on-going terrorism threat that we have launched our BCP unit.

It is all well and good businesses spending significant funds on IT back-up systems, but a secondary power solution is at the core of any business continuity plan.".
