Fieldbus management system gets speed boost
Proces-Data has now launched VIGO version 4.3 - the latest version of its Fieldbus Management System for Windows 95/98/NT.
New users are granted a 30-day licence until a PC to P-NET interface module is installed, whereupon a free licence is granted.
Vigo 5.5 includes many enhancements over previous versions, and includes the latest Process Pascal program development compiler, with up-to-date support for the new family of M36 fieldbus modules, including the recently launched Analogue I/O modules.
Also included is Visual Vigo - a low cost Scada type application to enable users to "draw" a dynamic graphical representation of a system using a variety of pre-programmed component objects for monitoring and control.
The package now includes a number of components relating to Data Acquisition, where data can be collected from various measurement and other system variables, logged and stored on a PC hard disc.
Other components can represent such data as a chart or table, and pass the collected data to other database applications such as Excel, Access and SQL.
Other improvements include support for Windows 2000 and XP, dial up modems and IP addressing, and new features for monitoring user networks and variables.
