Moisture sensor for mobile hydraulic
equipment
A moisture sensor from Parker Hannifin has been launched to help eliminate the problems caused by moisture forming in the hydraulic oils that are used in mobile hydraulic equipment.
A moisture sensor from Parker Hannifin's Filter Division Europe has been launched to help eliminate the problems caused by moisture forming in the hydraulic oils that are used in mobile hydraulic equipment, such as earth moving, forestry and military machinery, and in industrial plant in applications ranging from paper manufacturing to car body panel pressing The new MS150 moisture sensor has been developed to be quick and simple to install and setup, by both OEMs and end users, is compact and lightweight, extremely accurate and, as importantly, available at a low cost, enabling moisture detection now to be considered as a viable option in all hydraulics systems

Filtration ensures food manufacturing air is clean
The combination of coalescing and adsorption filtration provides air that's free from particulate, liquid droplets and hydrocarbons for food and packaging applications.
Hydraulics particle counter cuts system downtime
Low cost particle counter is designed to help companies reduce the cost of machinery maintenance and system downtime caused by contamination of hydraulic oils.
Moisture, typically in the form of condensation, is a common problem in most hydraulic systems that are exposed to regular fluctuations in temperature or used in demanding outside environments.
Moisture can contaminate hydraulic and lubricating oils through faulty or worn cylinder rod glands or breather caps, or from leaks in heat exchangers; in each case, moisture contamination will adversely affect system performance and reliability, leading to component wear and eventual failure, with a corresponding increase in maintenance and repair costs.
The new MS150 moisture sensor incorporates a flow-through sensor cell, which is installed directly in the flow stream to produce an extremely accurate reading that shows the real time percentage of moisture present in the operating fluid; this includes petroleum and synthetic based hydraulic and lubricating oils.

Insert filters save LP hydraulics costs
For use in low pressure hydraulic systems, insert filters offer high capacity and flow rates with extended filter element life, leading to significant savings in space and costs.
The MS150 is rated to IP54, measures just 80mm x 40mm and is manufactured from aluminium to reduce its weight to approximately 100g.
The sensor is available with a choice of threaded 1/4" BSPT or 1/4" NPT connections for quick installation into the flow path, with a flexible external cable suitable for directly linking to electronic displays, such as the Parker, Digital Display Unit or to higher level process control systems.
The MS150 provides temperature compensated results and can be used at operating temperatures between -20C and +85C.
In addition, the unit includes variable sensor outputs, offering the option of percentage saturation at 1-5VDC or 1-20mA, or as a 0-5VDC temperature output suitable for conversion to a ppm reading.
Other specifications include a maximum allowable operating pressure of 10 bar (145psi), an unlimited viscosity range, and supply voltage of +8 to +30 vdc. Request a free brochure from Parker Hannifin Filtration Division ...
