Traysealing Systems Suit All Types Of Production

A Packaging Automation product story

Packaging Automation (PA) has developed a full range of traysealing equipment claimed to be suitable for all sizes and levels of production.

Packaging Automation (PA) has developed a full range of traysealing equipment claimed to be suitable for all sizes and levels of production from small table-top manual machines to high speed fully-automatic lines.

Amongst its customers across the Irish Sea is poultry producer Oaktree Foods, which described PA's equipment and service as very impressive.

Oaktree, part of one of Ireland's largest poultry processors, contacted PA to help it launch a new line of chicken burgers for UK retailer Marks and Spencer.

Oaktree took advantage of PA's decision to hire out equipment to help users launch new products to meet the demands of retailers who frequently want new lines on their shelves very quickly.

Following a visit to PA's test kitchen at its Cheshire base where samples were produced, Oaktree quickly decided to hire a PA2016MAP- V machine.

The automatic rotary machine is being used at Oaktree in vacuum and gas format when dealing with fresh produce and is switched to atmospheric for the company's frozen products.

Oaktree's maintenance manager commented that the hire option was particularly attractive to the company as it gave it the chance to test the product at low financial risk without committing the company to purchasing the equipment outright.

Not far away in County Down, another PA machine has been in full production at the Finnebrogue Estate packing a range of venison products.

Initially, a PA182 MAP-F rotary machine was shipped over on loan so trials could take place.

They were so successful that the purchase of a Vision 182 MAP-F machine quickly followed, said PA.

That machine has been a success at the most advanced processing plant of its kind in Europe.

Business owner Denis Lynn chose the machine because of its reliability and performance and described the level of service received from PA as 'first rate'.

South of the border, in Eire, a long standing customer, Country Crest, selected PA equipment to further automate its operations.

Again a Vision 182 was the machine chosen when the company wanted to heatseal a film lid to polypropylene trays suitable for the microwave.

And again the company was impressed with the level of support and the performance of the equipment supplied.

PA sales manager Neil Aston is confident that the company's presence will continue to grow in Ireland.

He said: "We've had a good deal of success in Ireland already and customer feedback on both the quality of our equipment and the level of service they've received is very positive.

We are happy to work with customers to develop trial packs at our facility in Cheshire for them to present to their customers.

Aston added: "In addition our decision to offer machines on hire has also been a success and we anticipate that this is a way that we can continue to offer systems - particularly where companies are trying out new products or striving to meet retailers' demands to get new product lines on the shelves very quickly.
