Packaging Automation Banks on a bright
future
Packaging Automation has appointed Mark Banks as head of design to consolidate its position as the UK's leader in the sector and increase its portfolio of equipment.
Mark joins Packaging Automation after 24 years with pharmaceutical company Manesty during which time he undertook a number of key roles including head of applications engineering and head of product development As head of design operations at Packaging Automation, Mark will have overall responsibility for mechanical, electrical and software design

In addition, Mark will work with his team on the design and evolution of new machines to meet the needs of the market in both the food and non-food sectors - where Packaging Automation has secured extensive business since its formation in 1963.
Commenting on his new role Mark said: "The opportunity with Packaging Automation arose at just the right time in my career, and I am very much looking forward to helping the company really launch themselves far ahead of the competition.
There is an ongoing demand for equipment to evolve, to incorporate the latest technology, to operate at higher speed and increased capacities.
"Alongside that there are the needs of smaller customers to take into consideration, or those with small volume production runs.
All customers want well functioning, reliable, well priced equipment and support to meet the specific needs of their business." He added: "Designing problems out helps eliminate operational issues that may arise in the field, which can then cost time and money to resolve.
Getting things right first time has always been PA's aim and that is something I will really be putting a focus on through the design process.
I have only been in the post a few weeks and already.
I am very impressed with how well everyone works together and the level of commitment there is by all staff to the company.
I've enjoyed every moment so far." Packaging Automation's general manager Mick Davis said: "Mark brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this role - he has exactly the profile we need to keep our business moving forward.
We will be looking to Mark to use his engineering expertise to continue to design Packaging Automation equipment that is leading edge, offers ease of use, reliability and value for money - and most importantly gives our customers what they need.".
