UK packaging equipment and materials supplier, Packer, has formed a UK distribution agreement with Cyklop UK for the Cyklop ES 600 and semi-automatic ES 600A pallet strappers.

UK packaging equipment and materials supplier, Packer, has formed a UK distribution agreement with Cyklop UK for the sale and distribution of the Cyklop ES 600 and semi-automatic ES 600A pallet strappers John Sweeney, general manager of Packer, said: "Cyklop International is a global leader in the strapping and packaging field

The Cyklop ES 600A and ES 600 pallet strappers are an ideal system for a variety of companies involved in packaging, warehousing and logistics.

It's a great addition to our growing range of strapping and packaging products and we are looking forward to offering this product and its considerable benefits to our customers." David Hearn, managing director of Cyklop UK, added: "Packer has a very strong brand in the UK marketplace and we are confident its considerable expertise in this field, combined with its professional approach to its business will ensure the Cyklop ES600 range has a strong advocate to ensure its success in this highly-competitive industry." Hearn continued: "Back problems are a major issue in the manufacturing, production and warehousing environments.

The ergonomically-designed Cyklop ES 600 and semi-automatic ES 600A pallet strappers have been developed to meet the demand for a more safety-conscious pallet strapping machine.

The ES 600A and ES 600 utilise a patented 600mm Chainlance mechanism to automatically carry strapping through the pallet void and back up the far side of the load to a 'working height'." He continued: "After receiving the strapping, the operator then uses a joystick to immediately retract the Chainlance back in to its coil framing, ready for the next strapping operation.

The Chainlance system ensures the operator can simply reach for the strapping, cut and friction-weld it using the Cyklop CB130 battery operated friction weld tool without ever having to bend down and manually thread the strapping tape at any point in the process." Hearn explained that the system provides advantage in terms of helping to safe-guard employees against a range of back-related heath and safety issues that often arise in the packaging and fulfilment industries.

The mobile, battery-operated Cyklop ES 600A and ES 600 accommodate polyester, polypropylene and textile strapping up to 25mm wide and a range of roll core sizes.

Its galvanised steel frame ensures its durability under the rigorous demands of a busy packing and strapping environment, with a brake unit offering adjustment to set the strap feeding at the right speed and tension, added Packer.

The machine is claimed to be suitable for strapping pallets crosswise and lengthwise and requires eight centimetres in floor clearance for the Chainlance.

Additional steering wheels also enable exact positioning of the strapper in front of a pallet to ensure greater strapping precision and speed, added the company.
