Tear tape manufacturer Payne has made several major appointments. Geert Pijper has been appointed to the position of sales director for tear tape.

Tear tape manufacturer Payne has made several major appointments.

Geert Pijper has been appointed to the position of sales director for tear tape.

Pijper has held a number of senior sales positions within the Payne business, most recently global sales manager for brand protection.

His new role will focus on leading Payne's European based sales and customer service teams and driving forward value added strategies for certain key customers and product sectors, said the company.

Peter Bailey has jioned the company in the new role of operations and quality director for tear tape.

He will have direct responsibility for Payne's Nottingham site and for ensuring the development of operations and quality across Payne's sites internationally.

He was most recently managing director of the UK subsidiary of Precision Valve, the world's largest supplier of aerosol valves.

Hugh Ross has been appointed president of Payne's North American operation.

Ross was most recently director of sales development for Payne in North America, having joined the Filtrona group in 1999.

Payne's managing director, Tony Edwards, said: "The experience Geert, Peter and Hugh bring to Payne's senior management team will help us to maintain and develop the reputation of our tear tape business on an international basis.".
