Fast application thanks to Payne
A high-speed applicating system from Payne has given corrugated board manufacturer Mondi Saint Quentin France optimum efficiency for the application of Rippatape easy opening tear tape.
Mondi Saint Quentin has used Rippatape - Payne's tear tape product for boxboard - for a number of years, but has seen increased demand for the product due to the growth in shelf-ready packaging (SRP) solutions that use Rippatape for easy opening The company required an applicator that would enhance productivity, as the existing system in use at Mondi was considered to be inefficient

Payne's answer was the PRS350, a semi-automatic applicator designed to run at speeds of up to 350 metres per minute with fast set-up The application speed on Mondi's production line has more than doubled, from an average 100m per minute to as much as 275m per minute.
The project demonstrates Payne's commitment to quality of service, with the equipment delivered, installed and commissioned within a relatively short lead time.
"Rippatape is an excellent product, but we needed an equally excellent applicating system to ensure production efficiency," comments Alain Gallerne at Mondi Saint Quentin.
"The PRS350 delivers a fast, reliable application that suits our requirements perfectly." An extensive range of tear tapes is available to suit most applications and board grades, including solid red and white colours, printed red chevron, and customised printed designs for promotional campaigns and brand messages.
