Nestle brings Supastrip benefits to Kit Kat Asia
The use of Payne's market leading Supastrip tear tape to provide easy opening for Nestle Kit Kat has now been extended into Asia.
Since Kit Kat moved into flow-wrapped metallised OPP in the United Kingdom in 2001, Payne has supplied Supastrip to ensure the continuation of the brand's much-loved consumer ritual - revealing and snapping off one finger at a time! Nestle is committed to bringing the quality and freshness benefits of flow-wrapped packaging to consumers globally and has now introduced the technology into the Asian market.
Since the packs need to be kept tight around the product in order to maximise long-term freshness, a fast and reliable opening system - such as Supastrip - is required to enable consumers to gain easy access.
Equally important, the convenience of easy opening provides added value to enhance and reinforce established brand values, while the tear tape also offers a highly effective means of tamper-evidence to maximise consumer confidence.
Payne has also installed the tear tape applicator systems at Nestle's plant in Malaysia for the effective application of the 2mm Supastrip, which is supplied on 16km reels to reduce the downtime caused by changeovers.
The project has been co-ordinated by Payne's sales office in Surabaya, Indonesia, confirming the company's ability to provide localised service and support.
"Supastrip has been an invaluable aspect of Kit Kat's transition to flow-wrapped packaging in other regions, and we are pleased to be employing its easy opening benefits in Asia," comments Robert Too Long Choong, Packaging Technologist at Nestle Kit Kat.
"We have been impressed with Payne's commitment and expertise throughout the installation process.
