Surface finishing firm opens logistics
centre
German manufacturer of surface finishing, grinding and cutting tools has extended its logistics centre to speed delivery services throughout Europe and worldwide.

Originally commissioned in 1991, the even then technologically advanced facility was first extended in 1996 and again in 2004 to provide 3,400 storage positions.
Now, storage position capacity has been more than doubled to 7,700 positions, with an additional 2,300 in reserve, making an available capacity of 10,000 for further long-term development.
Presently, about 900 orders are processed and shipped every day from Marienheide to destinations all around the world.
* Next day deliveries for orders received by 13.00h - the Euro-Logistics system supplies all end-user customers direct in England, France, Belgium, Austria, Luxembourg, The Netherlands and Sweden, within a maximum of 48-72h, but an Express option (next day delivery), ensures that all normal orders are despatched the same day if received by 13.00h.
Worldwide, the system supplies 17 Pferd wholly-owned, local subsidiary, stock-holding and manufacturing companies and end user customers around the world where appropriate.
The Pferd Group employs more than 1,700 people worldwide.
