A convenient way of supplying high purity hydrogen and zero air for a wide range of monitoring applications requires only power, ambient air, a supply of pure water and fewer cylinders.

The new LNI Sonimix 3080, now available from Quantitech of Milton Keynes, is a convenient way of supplying high purity hydrogen and Zero Air for a wide range of monitoring applications, including the ubiquitous FID The unit requires only power, ambient air and a supply of pure water, thereby reducing cylinder count and avoiding the need to store bulk high-pressure hydrogen in potentially hazardous areas

The Zero Air module can supply up to 5 litres/minute at up to 3.5 bar.

Ambient air is filtered, compressed and cooled, and condensed water removed by an automatic trap.

Self-regenerating filters then remove inorganic pollutants and non-methane hydrocarbons.

If it is necessary to eliminate CH4 and CO, this can be done with an optional catalytic oven.

Hydrogen is generated by electrolysis, using the latest membrane technology and pure water as the source - most units require the use of caustic alkali with its associated hazards.

Any water vapour is removed from the hydrogen in a gas/liquid separator, producing Hydrogen of 99.99% purity.

As an option, purity can be improved to 99.999% using an additional dryer.

Different models can supply 100, 160 or 250 ml/min at up to 6 bar.
