Instrument validation module is comprehensive
An instrument validation module in WinLIMS software is the most comprehensive tool available for ensuring quality of analytical data provided by instruments connected to a LIMS.
For example, the "Formulations" facility not only allows complete definition of a product in terms of raw materials and production steps, but also provides a complete audit trail of the manufacturing process, including QC testing.
In-process testing can be defined in terms of methodology and parameter limits and can be used to control corrections made to production batches, all recorded against the formulation.
This approach can also be applied to product development, where the ability to accurately track the iterative processes involved has clear efficiency benefits.
Similarly, where a customer has requirements that differ from the normal bulk product, special test protocols can be defined and recorded against that unique customer specification.
The use of exceptionally flexible interface tools has given WinLIMS the ability to communicate seamlessly with many of the industry standard ERP/MRP systems, including SAP R3, BPCS, MFG/PRO.

Other facilities include the ability to record and document hazard data and special handling information against both raw material and products, and the ability to generate Certificates of Analysis in customer-specific formats or even as PDF files for use via the Internet (with appropriate security).
