The inRoll 9000/HR system from Quality By Vision combines an optical unit and software to produce an accurate profile of seaming rolls and seaming chuck contours.

The inRoll 9000/HR system from Quality By Vision combines an optical unit and software to produce an accurate profile of seaming rolls and seaming chuck contours The system measures any radius, angle or distance on the contour, using a noncontact laser based scanner

In fact, any symetrical (circular) tool contour can be inspected, using a resolution of 5um by supplying Quality By Vision with a sample or diagram of the tool.

This system is ideal for can makers and can fillers who routinely accept rolls and chucks without the ability of verifying their contour profiles.

Placing incorrect rolls into a seamer causes endless problems and can cause a loss of production for the can maker or can filler.

The system is able to automatically measure values, verify contour profiles, determine roll profile design (for reverse engineering purposes), export the profile to AutoCAD, compare rolls made by different manufacturers, as well as inspect the roll profile corrosion over time.

The system can be used for acceptance testing for companies purchasing seaming rolls or chucks (or other tooling) as well as for Q/A testing for companies producing rolls and chucks.
