Quality By Vision has recently introduced a new Zinc Coating thickness Analyzer for material in used in the automotive industry - the Zinc 9000.

The system uses a coulometric measurement system to deplate and measure the thickness of free zinc and zinc alloy coatings on iron samples.

Zinc samples can be one of the following types : Hot Dip Galvanized, Hot Dip Iron, Hot Dip Electrocoated or Galvanealed.

The system uses a temperature controlled electrolytic fluid based cell, which is connected to a computer.

The system is the only known system to measure the Zinc phases.

The computer removes the Free Zinc and then the individual Zinc phases (Zeta, DeltaP,DeltaC, Gamma and Gamma1) while monitoring the electrical properties of the sample.

The system allows the operator, at the end of the measurement, to perform a graphical analysis fo the individual layers and quantify them.

Up to 6 measurements can be performed simultaneously using the 3 spot cell (automatic 3-spot system), or 2 measurements using the 1 spot cell (automatic 1-spot system).
