"Our conference will give these businesses no better time or place than Krakow at end-May to visit the country and discover its plastics opportunities at first hand." This year sees Rapra Technology initiatives established for new accession states of Central Europe: Walton notes that: "Extending Rapra's technology and consultancy business into Europe in this way makes absolute sense for our future - logically and strategically," says Richard Walton, responsible for Rapra's regional activity.

"Our growing skill at putting joint European research projects together has very often brought us into contact with the grass roots processing industries of various European countries".

"This has given us the awareness that we are very well placed and equipped to provide services for these new geographic markets." Poland is the biggest new EU state and its domestic markets are expanding fast.

Key plastic markets are expanding: around 360,000 new cars were sold in 2003 and in January-March 2004 a total of 27,695 homes were completed.

The use of packaging is around 50% of that found in the old EU states, and is expanding with a current estimated value of US $3 billion And with Poland joining the EU in 2004, the markets are opening up for import and export opportunities.

Poland provides a strategic location between the EU and the emerging markets further East.

This conference on 'Doing Plastics Business in Poland' provides a discussion forum for potential investors, importers and exporters, together with Polish industry representatives and market experts.

The focus will be on equipping business with the way forward into new Polish marketplace.

The beautiful medieval city of Krakow 30-31 May 2005 will be the backdrop to the Rapra conference.

The Plastpol exhibition is in Kielce, about two hours drive away.

A special bus will be provided to transport Rapra conference delegates from Krakow to Kielce to see the show.

The events provide a very economical way to carry out extensive and in-depth market research on the Polish market.
