Rodmatic has appointed Jonathan Imm as production manager - he brings nearly 20 years of 3D, CADCAM experience and a strong background of precision machining and plastics industry.

Bringing nearly 20 years of 3D, CADCAM experience on lathes and machining centres and a strong background of precision machining, purchasing, manufacturing logistics and business development in the plastics and aerospace industry to help in the development of the subcontract machining business of Rodmatic of Reading, Jonathan Imm has been appointed as production manager.

Says director Robert Rickman on his appointment: "Jonathan impressed us with his background that fits perfectly into our plans to develop the business of Rodmatic which will focus on incorporating high levels of IT and investment in equipment to maximise return on investment, process improvement and providing higher levels of competitiveness to expand the customer base." Imm, 40, previously held a technical director position and implemented systems to reduce lead times and improve process control.

He also has extensive experience in improving shopfloor support implementing modern management practices through IT skills and reporting systems and has been closely involved in customer-supplier relationships.

In addition, he has gained a wealth of experience in the manufacture of complex components and has specialised in five-axis machining technology.

Rodmatic employs 55 people.

It has two divisions, Rodmatic Multico producing high volume components and the company recently launched its Rodmatic Hytek fast response, smaller batch operation using the latest turn/mill technology able to provide single cycle operations.
