Appointment for European subcontract machining
Rodmatic Limited, the precision machinist, has appointed Bob Todd as sales manager to draw European subsidiary customers into a portfolio of long-term contracts.
Rodmatic Limited has moved into the next phase of its global subcontract manufacturing initiative by appointing Bob Todd as sales manager, a role that will use his extensive continental experience to draw, in particular, European subsidiary operations of existing customers into the portfolio of long-term contracts for the Reading based precision machinist.
According to Brian Steatham managing director: "Bob Todd's background fits precisely into our progression plans to build a global supply philosophy bringing some 10 years experience in the fastening business.
His previous involvement at various levels of management between North East area sales manager, regional director and purchase director that lead him to 18 months in a position as commercial director is an ideal background to develop our objectives".
Bob Todd has worked on both sides of the supply chain business covering component sourcing as well as sales and has been involved in setting up operating divisions in France as well as being a key player in other western and eastern European fastener business operations.
He has been intensively involved in managing supply of added-value solutions where components and services were sourced as part of a 'one-stop' network to customers.
These involved in-depth logistics strategies using different sources of machined parts, pressings, bought-out components and assemblies.
Adds Brian Steatham: "Many companies are frustrated over the reliability of suppliers and particularly the resulting effects of increased or decreasing order books, variations in quality and pricing.
At Rodmatic we have established volume production through Rodmatic Multico and investment led Rodmatic Hytek, that uses the latest manufacturing technology for single operation production that already has a strong customer base of international names.
Our target is to provide the same service where we can manage the sourcing of components and other value-added services for the same customer as a known quantity in other operating territories with all the additional benefits of economies of scale".
