Pick up lowers load bed fully to the ground

A Razorback Vehicles Corporation product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Apr 22, 2003

Pick up vehicle lowers the entire load bed to enable an operator to load and unload heavy cargo from ground level and therefore eliminate injuries otherwise sustained from heavy lifting.

With Razorback technology, the entire load bed of a vehicle can be fully lowered to the ground.

This enables an operator to load and unload heavy cargo from ground level and therefore eliminates injuries sustained from heavy lifting which, in turn, could cause days off work, a Health and Safety investigation, or even a court case and compensation payments.

With no lifting required, the loading/unloading process also speeds up and manpower can be reduced at both ends of the process.

The technology also provides financial reassurance when transporting fragile items of high value.

The new Pick-Up version is the ideal solution for many potential users of the Razorback who have previously been limited by the space constraints of the original, enclosed vehicle.

The new Pick-Up benefits from all the same features as the original Razorback but removes the restrictions on load height, therefore allowing many more users to benefit from the unique easy-loading technology.

The basis of both the original Razorback and the new Pick-Up is a front-wheel drive chassis cab with a purpose-built rear end.

The load bed has a payload of 1000kg and is lowered to ground level at the push of a button.

As a result of the technology, Razorback has been awarded the European Institute of Transport Management (ITM) Innovation award.

At 3.5t, the Razorback can be driven by anyone with a normal car licence.

Razorback offers a two-year, unlimited mileage warranty, supported through the host cab's dealers or by Auto Service Group, which has mobile service units as well as static workshops throughout the UK.

For its vehicles, Fiat UK provides service and warranty support throughout the UK.
