Ground loader beats forklifts for handling
When it comes to transporting floor cleaning equipment the Razorback ground loading vehicle proved to be 'streets ahead' of trailers, forklifts, tail lifts and ramps.
When it comes to transporting floor cleaning equipment, Karcher UK has found the Razorback ground loading vehicle to be 'streets ahead' of trailers, forklifts, tail lifts and ramps.
Razorback's unique ground loading system enables the vehicle's load tray to be fully lowered to ground level.
This allows Karcher demonstrators to wheel heavy cleaning equipment straight into the back of the vehicle, without the need for any lifting or ramps.
Not only does this make loading quicker but it also considerably minimises the risk of lifting injuries, and therefore days off sick, and more than fulfils governmental occupational health and safety requirements.
The Razorbacks have also reduced operating costs for Karcher.
Before using Razorbacks, the company relied on vans with covered trailers to transport its floor cleaning equipment to demonstrations.
However, with a trailer in tow, manoeuvrability is reduced and the van and trailer combo has to be operated under tachograph conditions, which results in added costs for administration, service and calibration.
In contrast, Razorbacks do not require tachographs and money is saved on trailer insurance.
Razorbacks also reduce the amount of overnight storage space required.
The ease of loading and unloading machines and consumables has allowed Karcher to make substantial time savings, which allows demonstrators to spend more time in front of prospective customers.
The ground loading benefits of Razorbacks have also reduced damage to the undercarriage and squeegees on some of Karcher's machines with low ground clearance.
"The use of Razorbacks has massively increased the professionalism of the demonstration process," said Nikki Garnett, Fleet manager at Karcher.
"Razorback Vehicles Corporation Limited provides us with unrivalled technical support, including providing replacement vehicles when necessary.
We are so accustomed to the ease of a Razorback, we could never go back to old trailer system".
She added.
