The new strategy of Wonderware and the adoption of the name Wonderware Ireland by SolutionsPT Limited (formerly Pantek) is treated in detail.

The Ireland team has recently been strengthened by the addition of Tom McKittrick and Rachael Darragh.

The second headlined item is the publication of the latest up-to-date edition of Robin Garside's 'Electrical Apparatus and Hazardous Areas' which has been completely re-written and revised to take full full account of new technical standards, Directives and the DSEAR Regulations.

Garside is well known as a speaker in Ireland and Douglas Controls and Automation regularly run practical seminars on the subject with Robin.

'Will Building automation become automation?' is the intriguing question posed by Caroline Stanton of Mitsubishi Electric in the 'Inside Front' article.

He said that people can be very trusting of modern technology: "However they all assume that the automation system does not break down throwing the building into expensive disarray!" The usual array of articles with news of companies, applications, products and people fill the pages of this issue.

Among the events covered are the 'Manufacturing Automation Technology 07', a showcase of the latest innovations in manufacturing automation presented in various venues by Hanley Automation Networks later in the month.

Read-out is produced every two months and the next issue is scheduled for June 2007.
