Patented capacitive technique provides a high accuracy, non-contact, no friction solution to measuring rotary displacements of shafts.

Patented capacitive technique provides a high accuracy, non-contact, no friction solution to measuring rotary displacements of shafts.

The RCDT rotary displacement sensor from RDP Electronics addresses the problems of accurate rotational measurement of a shaft through the application of a capacitive, no-contact technique.

Designed primarily for industrial process applications, the RCDT has a measurement range spanning 300deg of arc with a full-scale resolution of 0.01% and linearity of +/-1%.

The compact housing of the RCDT incorporates hybrid electronic circuitry, operating from 13-18VDC, to provide a 3VDC full-scale output.

A major advantage of the capacitive measurement technique is a long lifespan due to the absence of contact wear, and the sensor's immunity to off-axis forces.

Measurements can be taken from limited-range shafts or continuously-rotating shafts, and a double-gang version is available to provide dual outputs or single redundancy for critical measurement situations.
