Electric car support with careers
promotion
Renishaw recently teamed up with engineering careers promoter Greenpower, to provide backing for the Castle Combe Regional Heat of the 2006 Greenpower Electric Car Series for UK secondary schools.

Upon entering the Greenpower series, teams are provided with a standard electric motor and four car batteries - two on the car and two on charge in the pitlane.
They must then build their vehicle to the unique 'Formula 24' specification supplied.
Each team must consist of six drivers, and six pit crew to help out in the pitstops and maintain the car.
Once complete, the school race their vehicle in their regional six-hour race, in an attempt to qualify for the 75-car National Final, which is held at Goodwood Motor Circuit, West Sussex, in October 2006.
The Renishaw regional event was held at the Castle Combe Motor Circuit on 2nd July, where almost 30 schools took part in the racing, which also had the backing of the Advanced Engineering Skills Project initiative. Request free introductory details about products from Renishaw ...
