experiences
To promote business co-operation between the UK and India, Renishaw related its Indian investments experiences at the 'Advanced Engineering Summit' this week.

A large delegation led by Digby, Lord Jones of Birmingham, Minister for Trade and Investment, took part in the annual international Partnership Summit organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
Participating companies, including Renishaw, had the opportunity to network with Indian companies and government decision makers.
Renishaw's speaker at the Advanced Engineering Summit event, Renishaw's assistant chief executive, Ben Taylor, outlined Renishaw's history of investments in India.

Pull-down arm for CNC lathe tool setting

These included the setting up of a wholly owned trading company in Bangalore in 2000, and the company's recent investment in a 100% Export Orientated Unit (EOU) based in Pune.
The latter manufactures a limited range of components that were previously procured, and products where assembly costs are critical to competitiveness.
Within India, Renishaw has also set up a procurement operation to directly source high quality components from Indian vendors.
Also a development team specialising in metrology software has also been formed.
The sales and marketing operation for India is focused in Bangalore, with regional offices in Delhi (Gurgaon) and Pune, supported by resident sales engineers in other important industrial centres.
More than 20 high profile UK engineering companies will attend the Advanced Engineering Summit, including Airbus, BAe Systems, Caterpillar, Cosworth, Lotus Engineering and Rolls Royce.
