Roller chains cope with space limitations

A Rexnord product story

A roller chain reduces maintenance and lubrication requirements without the usual high cost and suits applications where access is difficult or the risk of product contamination is not permitted.

Chain for applications where access is difficult or the risk of product contamination is not permitted has typically been technically complicated and burdened with a hefty price tag.

To alleviate these factors, Rexnord has introduced a roller chain that reduces maintenance and lubrication requirements without the usual high cost.

The chain is ideal for such applications as vertical storage, escalators and the paper, confectionery, food and textile industries.

Rexnord '5000 Athletic', the new chain, employs a specially developed chain link.

The link pin has an innovative coating that imparts excellent sliding characteristics plus high wear resistance, even where the correct lubrication routines are not followed.

Maintenance is further reduced as a result of a special treatment of the bushes that enhances smooth running and articulation.

Also contributing to the chains continuous, smooth performance is the factory application of a high-performance, long-lasting lubricant.

The structure of the lubricant ensures that it is not thrown off at normal operating speeds, is extremely water resistant and has an operating temperature range of between -10 to +150 deg C.

This combination of features means Rexnord's 5000 Athletic offers longevity even with its significantly reduced maintenance demands.

The fatigue strength of 5000 Athletic compares to that of Rexnord's high performance roller chains and dimensions correspond to DIN/ISO stipulations.
