Paper and Plastic Cutting With High Speed Lasers
Cutting of shapes from paper or plastic can be carried out at high speed using the Starshape range of CO2 lasers from Rofin-Baasel UK.
For example the field can be extended up to 500mm x 500mm, whilst maintaining a spot size smaller than 0.5mm, whcih is a combination not possible with a two-axis galvo head, according to the company.
The system has output powers from 100W to 600W.
LaserCAD, the front-end design package running on a Windows PC platform, is claimed to allow 'on-the-fly' operation and ease of generation of complex scribe patterns.
At claimed speeds in excess of 300 metres per minute (depending on the pattern to be scribed), the system is said to be capable of high quality and high throughput and multiple lasers can be fitted to a single machine. Request a free brochure from Rofin-Baasel UK ...
