Now available from Rainford Precision is the new range of drills from Union Tool Europe SA of Switzerland.
Small drills machine hard tool steels
Small hole drilling problems need no longer occur, exampled by using one micro carbide drill to produce 20-off 0.25mm holes to a 3mm depth in 54HRC tool steel, normally an EDM job.
All Union Tool End Mills now have a shank tolerance of +/- 0.005mm and the new range of HLRS corner radius End Mills have a length to diameter ratio of up to 15:1.
Despite this exceptionally long reach, the HLRS demonstrates a high level of rigidity combined with outstanding tool life.
Available in a wide selection of diameter ranges with each diameter having a number of differing clearance levels and a selection of radii, the HLRS is suitable for wet and dry machining.
The specialist ranges of highly efficient cutting tools have been developed for high accuracy mould and die applications.
This is demonstrated by the HLRS specification.
Specified with diameters from 0.4 to 6mm rising in 0.1mm increments with up to four corner radius choices on most cutters above 2mm diameter, the HLRS is a true replacement for ball nose cutters in mould and die applications delivering significantly improved productivity and surface finishes.
The high accuracy HLRS has a corner radius of +/- 0.01mm whilst the HLRS-E holds a tolerance of +/- 0.005mm.
The range is also available with the high performance Hard Max coating from Union Tool for machining materials up to 65Hrc.
Complimenting the HLRS and of particular interest to subcontractors attending the exhibition will be the new Union Tool range CZS endmills with an Endface design for high feed plunging and high feed longitudinal machining.
The extremely tough CZS range has a low friction coating that promotes excellent chip evacuation and long tool life.
Available from 1 to 12mm diameter in 0.5mm increments, the CZS is well suited to machining carbon steel, alloy steel, pre-hardened steels and aluminium alloys.
The four flute square end cutter is a multi-purpose tool capable of side, face and slot milling applications on a wide spectrum of materials - thus making it the subcontractor's tool of choice.
