Turning and parting-off heavy tube and pipe
A new range of large capacity, CNC turning and part-off equipment for tube up to 8in diameter has been introduced to the UK by Rivers Machinery under a sole agency agreement.
The machines are manufactured in semi-automatic versions ( Kastotwin U4) and in fully automatic versions (Kastotwin A2, A3, A4), to which different option packages may be added.
The base and saw head are of heavy, torsion free welded construction to ensure quiet operation and minimum blade wear.
Owing to the high precision saw band guides, it is possible to cut solids and structural steel members without changing the blade, contributing further to high production rates.

The Italian manufacturer of facing, centering and end finishing machines, Caorle SpA, has appointed Rivers Machinery to sell and service its products in the UK.
The double column design with hydraulic material clamping at both sides of the blade ensure precise cutting.
Additionally, the saw feed is automatically adjusted according to the material being cut and its diameter.
The same feature acts as a saw blade overload protection system during unmanned running.
An array of accessories is available including a quick adjusting measuring stop, chip conveyor, low pressure spray coolant, and infeed and outfeed roller conveyors.
Kastotwin U4 is for right angle cutting of structurals, tubes and solids up to 400 mm diameter / 400 x 400 mm square.
Kastotwin A-Series machines are high production, fully automatic bandsaws on which up to 30 orders defined by part length and number off can be programmed and left to run automatically.
Further features are roller tables and automatic material feed for single and multiple strokes.
Kastotwin A2 has a cutting range of up to 280 mm diameter or 280 x 280 mm square; model A3 is for cutting 320 mm diameter stock; and A4, up to 400 mm.
Single material feed length is 750 mm with each machine, whilst multiple strokes up to 20 metres are possible.
Optionally, the machine can be equipped with a single stroke length of 1,500 mm.
The automatic versions come with more standard equipment, i.e powered chip removal brush, infinitely variable clamping pressure, electronic rpm control, digital length measuring display and multiple feed device.
To increase the ergonomics as well as the degree of automation, extensive accessories are available such as movable material containers, and layer and bundle clamping devices.
