Automatic storage systems designed for
SMEs
Job shops and SMEs profit from storage systems for stock keeping, for the economic turnover and fast access to bar stock and flat materials, sheet metal, goods, tools as well as resources and more.
With the initiative 'KASTO Sawing and Storing for SMEs (small and medium enterprises)', started in 2007, the market leader in these areas offers an extensive product range of saws and bar or sheet metal storage technology for metal job shops and SMC suppliers: the Bar and Sheet Metal Storage system Unitower In many small to medium-sized companies, material flow and storage technology still have not yet received the attention they deserve

This is the reason why KASTO had already started to develop and manufacture bar storage systems in addition to their sawing technology years ago.

Job shops and SMC suppliers profit from KASTO's experience in storage systems for stock keeping, for the economic turnover and fast access to bar stock and flat materials, sheet metal, goods, tools as well as resources and more.
The very compact, space-saving Storage Tower System Unitower, which can store a large volume on a small footprint, is particularly well-suited for job shops, machine shops and SMEs.
Designed as cassette storage systems to store bar stock or different storage goods as well as a pallet systems to store sheets or plates, semi-finished products and remnants, the Unitower tower storage systems allow the organizationally and economically optimum solution for smaller storage volumes in job shops, industry and distribution.
The decisive advantage with these and other KASTO-storage systems is the fact that procurement, storing, removing, commissioning and pre-manufacturing sequences - and therefore the material flow - are structured right from the start, which leads to significant material, personnel, time and cost savings.
To be able to offer job shops, metal building as well as mechanical machine shops or SMC supplier companies tailored solutions, the Unitower is modularly designed.
This allows single or double towers with cassettes for bar stock or also with slave pallets for sheets, flat products or other goods.
Depending on the design, the Unitower storage systems can reach a height of up to 7m (Unitower C) or up to 25m (Unitower B) and can accept pallets with loads from 1 tonne to maximum 5 tonnes.
The handling of the cassettes or slave pallets in the storage rack takes place via a well-proven pull and push technology, which is installed at the robust and fast operating gantry crane on the loading traverse.
Storing and material retrieval is done through the loading traverse or through stations located at the longitudinal and lateral side of the storage tower.
The tower is designed to adapt to the material flow concept.
Unitower tower storage systems can be installed in existing buildings or at the outside of a building with roof and wall cladding as a rack-supported building.
In the latter case no production floor space is lost for storage.
The tower storage systems come as a semi-automatic or automatic version and are designed for different storage heights.
They ensure safe handling, protect the stored goods and can be easily operated by authorized personnel.
The system is operated and controlled by the Compact Control KASTO BasicControl (only Unitower C) or the KASTO EasyControl.
The compartment with the desired cassette or pallet is selected at a touch screen.
The loading traverse approaches this compartment, pulls out the cassette/pallet, moves it down and material can be either removed or added at the station.
In semi-automatic operation, this cycle runs autonomously by just using an acknowledgement key.
It also needs to be mentioned that the tower storage systems are delivered, installed and commissioned as a complete, ready to operate unit.
The smallest tower storage system Unitower C for sheet metal can be installed by the customer on-site reducing investment costs even more.
