Modular circular saws are easy to use
Modular circular sawing machines feature sturdy construction, efficient drives and easy operation for use in machine shops, construction equipment industries and stockholding companies.
During the recent EMO machine tool show, Kasto reported to Manufacturingtalk about its KASTOflex modular circular sawing machines The KASTOflex is based on a modular machine concept robust welding construction, high-quality machine elements, efficient drives and controls as well as easy operation are the best prerequisites for a flexible use in machine shops, metal and steel building facilities as well as in the metal processing production industry and in steel distribution

High speed saws deliver forging billets JIT
Investment in two high-speed, automatic circular sawing machines has enabled Imatra Steel to introduce a new service, namely the delivery of swarf-free billets on a just-in-time (JIT) basis.
Main characteristic of the machine design is the support table that can be rotated to the left and right allowing a fast and angle-accurate adjustment of miter cuts from +/-90 deg (total swivel area 180 deg).
A four-point roller bearing of the machine table, allows it to be easily and accurately rotated and manually adjusted via a vernier.
Fixed stops are available for straight and for +/-45 deg cuts.

Sawing and storage systems benefit SMEs
SMEs can profit from a manufacturer and supplier of all sawing methods (hacksaws, bandsaws and circular saws), bar storage and retrieval systems as well as sheet metal systems.
Modular circular saws have 180 deg swivel
Modular range of circular saws offer a work support table that can be rotated to the left and right, allowing a fast and accurate angle adjustment of miter cuts between +/-90 deg.
Upon request, more fixed stops can be installed.
Moreover, the KASTOflex Miter Circular Saws are easily accessible since the total enclosure can be opened wide to change the saw blade and to access the work area.
For reproducible accurate quality cuts, either HSS-solid steel or HSS-segmented saw blades with diameters from 350 to 450mm are used.
Equipped with a strong direct drive (pole-changing three-phase motor) and a four step bevel-toothed spur gear drive, the KASTOflex Miter Circular Saws economically cut solids as well as tubes and profiles of all material qualities.
A saw blade change is normally not necessary.
The combination of infinitely variable cutting speed via frequency control (optional) and the infinitely variable hydraulic constant saw feed adjusts by itself to the cutting task.
This eliminates set-up times in mixed operation, which ensures higher efficiency and output - but with the same amount of personnel and in the same time.
* KASTOflex U - the KASTOflex U has a cutting range of maximum 380 x 25mm (flat), 140 x 140mm (square) or 150mm diameter (round).
Designed as a semi-automatic machine, it is suited to cut solids and especially tubes and profiles in 90 deg cut as well as double-sided miter cuts.
The material is clamped via hydraulic short stroke vertical clamping vise activated by the push of a button.
* KASTOflex A - the KASTOflex A has a cutting range of maximum 260 x 30mm (flat), 140 x 140mm (square) or 150mm diameter (round).
Designed as an automatic saw, the KASTOflex A is best suited for fast single cuts as well as mass production cutting.
Equipped with a material feed vise, which opens to both sides, the return stroke to re-grip and position to the next cut-piece length is made without contact between vise and material.
The feed vise positions accurately via ball lead screw.
This allows single stroke feed lengths up to 2000mm for straight or 1975mm for miter cuts.
In automatic operation, the remnant length with 90 deg straight cut is 35mm and with miter cuts 95mm, which reduces the amount of material needed.
The KASTOflex A has the KASTO-saw control CompactControl.
It allows easy and safe operation as well as fast order entry.
