Change over of servers made in a weekend
Chicago Gasket, one of the oldest and most successful suppliers of Teflon gaskets, has successfully transitioned to Relevant's MS SQL Server version of INFIMACS over a weekend.
EEI General Manager, David Montgomery conducted EEI's due diligence, looking for enterprise software with: ?* Superior supply chain capabilities: EEI manufactures on both consignment and turnkey bases.
Excellent inventory tracking and control from initial purchase through manufacturing and shipping are critical to ensure timely delivery without excess inventory carrying charges.
?* Project based manufacturing: Virtually all EEI manufacturing is on a project basis.
Project control fully integrated through inventory, purchasing, shop floor control, MRP, manufacturing cost control and other company financials is essential for EEI to aggressively manage its projects.
Lockheed Martin and FIU helped EEI narrow down the field of potential ERP vendors.
The short list included Relevant.
FIU advisor Richard Burton states: "FIU did a base line review looking for systems appropriate for small manufacturing defense contractors".
"Relevant was precisely tailored to the EEI business model." EEI's Montgomery conducted the in-depth analyses.
"We were interested in a totally integrated system".
"I found large packages that fit the bill, but not our pocketbook and small packages that we could afford but that lacked the integration we needed".
"Relevant's ERP is a standout - combining strong manufacturing capabilities with a solid financial package and the ability to gracefully scale as we grow." Prior to finalising their decision, EEI conducted an on-site visit with a 4-year Relevant customer with similar business requirements.
Montgomery wanted to determine overall satisfaction over time, identify any weaknesses in the software's ability to support the business and finally, Montgomery was looking for any additions to the initial purchase, believing that understanding the deltas would point out potential short comings.
? Montgomery states, "We found an enthusiastic, satisfied customer".
"Their experience with Relevant's ability to fully support the planning, execution and delivery requirements for DOD suppliers was very reassuring and helped shape our decision in favor of Relevant." Pat Garrehy, Relevant CEO, believes the EEI decision will represent only the first Mentor Prot?g? win for Relevant".
""Our product really performs for small and medium DOD manufacturers".
"It has all the project and reporting support required by the government at an excellent value".
"Plus, its scalability means it will still be the system of choice as the Mentor Prot?g? grows." * About Relevant Business Systems - Relevant Business Systems provides superior project-oriented enterprise software for aerospace and defense, maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) and contract manufacturing.
