Grip titanium by only 3mm with a 5-axis
vice
Instead of gripping a titanium workpiece by 20mm for machining, a Hilma 5-axis vice needs only 3mm to grip the workpiece.
At the UK's MACH 2008 exhibition, Roemheld will show visitors how Hilma 5-axis vices can safely grip titanium for machining on just 3mm rather than the traditional 20mm Visitors to Roemheld stand will be able to see how this increases work throughput while dramatically reducing material wastage and handling

The stand will extensively feature the Roemheld product range of core products.
This will include the low-cost Matrix sets, designed to help make the introduction of hydraulic clamping viable for small companies.
In addition, Roemheld will be exhibiting the benefits of Stark zero point mounting systems.
Roemheld told manufacturingtalk.com that these systems combine reduced set-up times with increased repeatability and productivity.
These can be either air or hydraulically operated to meet the varied demands of an ever changing marketplace and customer base.
Visitors to the stand will also see how the computer programmable, compact Kostyrka sleeves exert extremely high holding forces and can clamp and unclamp at lightning speed.
The emerging use of 3D models in fixture design and capability, with many examples, will also be shown.
* Competition - visitors to the Roemheld stand will be entered into a competition to win a gripping tour of the Prodrive facilities in Banbury, UK.
This will be an exclusive chance to go behind the scenes where the Subaru World Rally Cars (WRC) and the Aston Martin DBR9 sports cars are designed and built.
Managing director of Roemheld, Bill Neal, said: ?We hope the different elements within our stand will demonstrate that Roemheld offers a solution-based approach to workholding needs.
We are not interested in selling product for product sake, we want to help end users achieve greater productivity, reduce material wastage and increase efficiency.? * Roemheld UK at MACH 2008, NEC, Birmingham, UK, April 21-25, Hall 4, Stand 4210. Request a free brochure from Roemheld UK ...
