Ethernet switch is optimised for EtherNet/IP
Rockwell Automation's latest industrial Ethernet switches are integrated with Cisco technology to effectively manage real-time control and information flow.
Ethernet switches/infrastructure products launched
A full range of Ethernet switches and infrastructure products includes managed switch co-branded with Cisco, integrating Cisco technology and optimised for EtherNet/IP.
The pixel based graphic LCD monochrome display and feature-rich design, allow for high-performance in applications that demand a small, less expensive interface.
The PanelView 300 offers features that users have come to expect from the Allen-Bradley operator interface range, only in a smaller terminal.
These features include: screen security; extensive alarm capabilities that allow users to log alarms; universal language support to create object text in 46 different languages; PC memory cards for easy application transfer; and a variety of communication interface options to Allen-Bradley's MicroLogix, SLC500, PLC, and ControlLogix control platforms.

Configured drive packages save costs
A configured drives service allows engineers to choose a base drive package and then enhance it with numerous options in line with the needs of the application.
Diagnosis and maintenance of machine tools
Rockwell Automation has introduced the QC10 ballbar which gives maintenance technicians a tool for assessing the dynamic motion and positioning precision of machine tools and production machinery.
Integrated automation reduces costs and errors
Getting discrete automation equipment elements to understand, interrogate, integrate and interact with each other is the real challenge in reducing cost, time and errors, says Dave Withenshaw.
"The development of PanelView 300 was initiated by customer demand for an inexpensive terminal that can provide the features more commonly found in higher-priced terminals," said Paul Herron, product manager for Rockwell Automation.
"The PanelView 300 is positioned to offer users superior control in a low-cost display.
Now customers can utilise the power of the PanelView range of displays in applications where it previously might not have been economically feasible." PanelView 300 Standard applications are developed with Allen-Bradley PanelBuilder32TM, a 32-bit graphical interface development software.
PanelBuilder32 enables a similar look, touch and feel throughout the PanelView Standard family of operator interfaces.
PanelBuilder32's compatibility to RSLogix software allows for easy importing and exporting of tags.
PanelBuilder32 and RSLogix together provide the use of user-specified defaults, multiple open applications and other features for significant time savings in training and application support.
PanelView 300 offers full-featured, screen-level security and analogue gauges (new across all PanelView Standard products).
Advanced alarm capabilities allow users to log alarms both historically and as active versus inactive.
The alarm design improves up-time by providing more timely, accurate and detailed display information of machine and process issues.
Because it is equipped with universal language support, the space-saving PanelView 300 is ideal for OEMs shipping globally.
The 16-bit character capability can be used to create screen and object text in 46 different languages, including Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Russian.
The complete text file can be easily copied to an Excel spreadsheet, sent to a translator for translation into any of the languages now supported, and then copied into PanelBuilder32.
The complete application is converted to another language quickly and easily.
The PC memory card option allows for the simple upload and download of applications and firmware upgrades from office to plant floor.
Multiple applications can be saved on one card to maintain all PanelView 300 terminals (or any PanelView Standard terminal) in the plant.
The PC card also is a great tool for OEMs to transfer applications to their customers for field modifications.
PanelView 300 has flexible communication options, including DeviceNetTM, DF-1TM and DH-485.
This makes the PanelView 300 terminals ideal for MicroLogixTM and Allen-Bradley SLC 500TM controller applications.
The Allen-Bradley PanelView 300 provides many of the features found across the PanelView range but within compact dimensions and at a lower cost.
PanelView 300 extends all the benefits of a monochrome HMI, into areas where previously size and cost would have made this impractical. Request a free brochure from Rockwell Automation ...
