Laser system inspects large surfaces in detail
Laser scanning inspection system can collect and analyse in excess of 20,000 points per second, allowing more detailed inspection of geometric and surface features when compared with touch probes.
The algorithms in PowerINSPECT 3.0 were submitted to PTB for certification and received accreditation.
Many customers, especially in the aircraft industry, require software be certified by either the National Institute of Standards and Technology (U.S.) or PTB.
PTB Certification is accepted worldwide.
PTB compares its standards with those of other nations to maintain "constant and critical" assessment at the top levels of metrology.
PTB thus ensures comparability and reliability of measurement results throughout the world.
"The approval answers the question: how do customers know the algorithms are correct and are providing the correct measurement results? This is one more confirmation of our commitment to the highest quality standards," said Tom Moran, ROMER CimCore president and chief operating officer.
"Along with our ISO manufacturing certification and compliance with B89 and NIST standards, customers are assured the highest quality and accuracy possible in our products.".
