Gravimetric controller is for automating small to mid-size materials handling machines and systems, with simple configuration and programming of control, drive and communication tasks.

The new Power Panel PP41 Gravimetric Controller has been specially configured by weighing and dosing feeder company Rospen Industries for automating small to mid-size materials handling machines and systems, with simple configuration and programming of control, drive and communication tasks.

Developed for high-speed applications, these compact devices have a weighing resolution of better than one part in 8 million and suit both demanding new applications and low-cost upgrades.

The operator panel and controller are combined in a single device to facilitate the most ideal implementation of many control and visualisation tasks.

High performance is ensured by a powerful PLC CPU including integrated digital I/O and expansion slots for easy fit modules.

Many different modules with an array of functions can be selected without the need for a large amount of space.

With a comprehensive list of base functionality, the 'future-proof' PLC hardware is easily expandable using easy fit modules and CAN-bus linked expansion racks to control single or multiple machines.

Industry standard communication protocols via CAN, Profibus DP, Modbus 485 or Ethernet adaptor modules provide seamless controller interface with the user's plant and SCADA systems.

Remote I/O and signal conditioning on the plant allow for distributed control.

The controllers have a 5.7in display, 10 digital inputs and eight digital outputs, RS232 and CAN-bus.

They are offered with extended warranties and a guarantee of 10 years' field support.

A good upgrade controller for existing PC or PLC equipment and any gravimetric bespoke control system, the PP41 is also an ideal low-cost replacement for existing weigh feeder controllers that are costly or difficult to maintain or service.

It automatically upgrades weight signal conditioning to a 24 bit level and provides extensive new benefits.

At same time Rospen can replace old load cells with new industry standard industry units offering subsequent ease of maintenance by using competitive off-the-shelf products.

This is particularly appropriate where special bespoke weighing devices have previously been employed which can prove costly or inconvenient to replace.
