RPC and Venus take relationship to the 'Ultra'

A RPC Group product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Feb 9, 2007

The excellent relationship between RPC and Greek fruit packer Venus Growers has been underlined by the selection of the Classic Ultra jar for the packaging of a new product range.

Venus Growers is one of Greece's leading suppliers of high-quality fruit products, with a significant proportion of its business in worldwide exports.

It has long championed the benefits of plastic packaging as an alternative to the traditional tin can, both in terms of convenience - through its lightweight and shatterproof properties - and product presentation, with plastics' stylish design and excellent contact clarity allowing products to be seen on shelf.

With consumers increasingly recognising these same qualities, the company recently made the decision to diversify into a plastic jar format.

As Venus Growers already uses thermoformed barrier cups supplied by RPC Bebo Nederland, the RPC Group's expertise in co-extrusion blow moulding made it the ideal choice to produce the required container.

In a further demonstration of RPC's capabilities as a single source supplier of plastics packaging, the manufacture of the jar is shared between RPC Corby and RPC Kutenholz, whilst the closure is supplied by RPC Halstead.

The 1L jar is manufactured in PP/EVOH/PP to provide excellent barrier protection for long-term product freshness.

A transparent wraparound label enhances the pack appearance, as it provides effective branding whilst keeping the product visible.

"RPC has already proved itself to be a supportive and capable supplier, and the addition of the Classic Ultra jar further strengthens our reputation for providing high-quality products in attractive and convenient packaging," comments Stelios Theodoulidis of Venus Growers.
