Custom Bottle
A custom-moulded bottle from RPC Containers Raunds is bringing convenient pouring and stylish appearance to a specialist range of automotive fuel additives from Fortron.
It is produced by Oculus Innovative Sciences, a US company specialising in wound treatment.
When Oculus established its European subsidiary in Sittard (The Netherlands) responsible for producing and supplying Dermacyn across Europe, the company required a local packaging company capable of replicating the brand's distinctive five-litre container.
RPC Kerkrade was chosen for its manufacturing reputation and its proximity to the Sittard facility, said the company.
In addition, Oculus was impressed by the efficiency of the Kerkrade site and its approach.
Although the bottle is based on the existing custom design used by the company worldwide, Oculus and RPC Kerkrade worked together to fine-tune the design to improve its functionality and cost-effectiveness.
Manufactured in HDPE for hygiene and robustness, the container features two handles for ease of pouring and an indented labelling area.
Next to the Dermacyn wound treatment solution, the bottle is also used for packaging Oculus's disinfectant for medical instruments.
Oculus general manager, Bas Philippens, said: "RPC Kerkrade has proved an efficient and helpful packaging partner for Oculus Innovative Sciences.
Its input in to the existing design has made an already-impressive container even more robust and contributed to the high-quality reputation we are establishing in the medical market.".
