Versatile tube sawing centres exhibited
Builder of tube sawing machines and systems notes that the variety of workpiece shapes and materials is increasing, as will be demonstrated by two recent tube sawing centre developments.
At the Tube exhibition in Dusseldorf, Germany, RSA will present two new sawing centers that take up a trend in the pre-production of tubes and sections: specialisation in product quality and transition to flexible production Particularly in the tube trade and at the component suppliers to the automotive industry, the variety of workpiece shapes and materials is increasing

Saw cuts short tube sections at high rates
New mass cut saw cuts short, 30-100mm tube sections efficiently and precisely at extremely high outputs and low piece-part costs - an important factor in the case of rising world steel prices.
Sawing centres built for tubes and sections
While high performance and precision are taken for granted, production and purchasing managers are looking for flexible automated systems, which help prepare them for future demands.
Restrictive quality specifications require a high production know-how, cost pressure and ability to deliver call for flexible machine concepts.
To show how to cope with this 'balancing act', RSA will present as an example two new sawing centres at the Tube.
They complete the existing range of products, and as a result six types are available now.
Each sawing center meets specific demands, but its design is flexible and facilitates processing of a wide spectrum of workpieces for an optimum production utilisation.
* Sawing centre for short tubes of a length from 20mm - the Rasacut SK sawing centre was developed for high precision and high performance cutting and deburring of short tubes from 20mm in length.
To cut such short lengths, the handling of the tubes and the complete, reproducible deburring presented a particular challenge, said RSA to manufacturingtalk.com.
RSA developed a system that improved operating sequence and quality - not only during sawing, but also during deburring.
The use of high performance brushes gives some advantages over the usual vibratory deburring, said RSA.
The sawing centre can be expanded further through modules for checking and cleaning.
* Sawing centre for tubes and solid bars up to 170mm diameter - RSA has developed the Rasacut XXL sawing centre for cutting tubes and solid bars up to 170mm diameter.
Previously, this dimensional range was the application area for band saws.
But according to customers using this new circular saw, the cutting time is reduced by up to 90% when compared with modern band saws, and the quality of the cut surface has improved in so far as perpendicularity and surface roughness is concerned.
The sawing centre may consist of modules for deburring, checking, cleaning, and stacking or be expanded afterwards.
