M2M communication is one of the most promising markets.
According to the Gartner Report "M2M Cellular Module Market Overview", the number of M2M devices sold around the world in 2005 amounted to 9.6 million (63 percent), and is set to rise to 30.7 million sold units by 2008.
Telit is addressing this market with the cost-optimised product families GT, GM, GE and GC, which are based on innovative technologies from leading companies such as Infineon or SiRF.
As one of the first manufacturers, Telit is offering the global supply of modules that combine GSM/GPRS and GPS in a very compact space, among others also with BGA assembly concept (Ball Grid Array): This enables a direct connection of the module with the basic printed circuit board in the terminal.
Plugs and cables and the quite significant costs for this are redundant.
It also enables a quick and cost-saving assembly in the pick-and-place method, like with standard SMD assemblies.
Applications that had previously required several modules receive in this way and for the first time all functions united within one module.
This saves time and money in integration and in the production of the terminals.
Drawing on its global market strategy and over 15 years of experience in the development and marketing of mobile telephones and wireless communication devices, Telit intends to establish itself as a leading supplier in the M2M market by 2010.

A constant line of manufacturers is the easiest form of international product development for the customers - and they can also draw in this context on the application specialists from the Wireless Development, who operate internationally and on behalf of all clients.
In the wireless market, Rutronik now covers fields of RFID-passive, RFID-active, ISM/SRD, ZigBee, Bluetooth, WLAN, GSM (GPRS) and GPS.
