Flowrapper Speeds Gardening Products' Launch
Every day presents new challenges in the packaging world, as Paul McMahon, the operations manager of Record Packaging, found out when he first met Acquagel Technology.
The success of the company has been down to the growing demand for natural health ingredients, either to compliment a healthier lifestyle, combat allergies and obesity or fit in with ethnic and religious dietary requirements.
Martin Rooney commented: "My wife and I have had a personal interest in natural health issues and have always valued the importance of wholesome ingredients.
It is particularly satisfying to see this translating in to business success spurred on by the surge in interest in organic and healthy option foods." He continued: "Our production has been growing steadily and needed to ensure that our packaging capability was able to cope.
Of all the flowrappers we saw, the Record Scorpion was the easiest to use and provided us with the flexibility we needed to change product size regularly and pack on demand at high speed.
Our production line is now running 25 per cent faster and we have been able to make significant savings in staff overtime payments." To further enhance the packaging operation, Record Packaging has also supplied an integrated labeller, which allows Focused Nutrition to switch production from branded to own brand packs quickly and easily.
Paul McMahon, Record's operations manager was involved in the project from the start.
He said: "It is always satisfying to see a customer truly benefit from a new packaging application.
The new generation Scorpion has proved itself as a more than able workhorse and at a low entry cost, it pays for itself very quickly.
Time and again we see the smaller business benefit from the flexibility and speed it provides.".
