High precision carbide drills have been developed specifically for use with ISO-N materials, particularly aluminium alloys with a Si content of 8-12% or less.

A new generation of Sandvik Coromant Delta-C high precision carbide drills has been developed specifically for use with ISO-N materials, particularly aluminium alloys with a Si content of 8-12% or less The drill programme offers the facility for high speed, precision hole making in aluminium and is particularly suited to aerospace and automotive applications where it has the capability to completely replace PCD drills in many aluminium drilling operations

Coromant's unique multi-purpose grade GC1220 works in most materials and its all round capability enables multi-purpose use.

The drill offers high edge chipping resistance and accurate hole positioning.

Thanks to a unique geometry especially designed for aluminium, hole tolerance and quality are enhanced while burr formation is dramatically reduced on the exit sides as the cutting forces are directed away from the periphery and towards the centre.

The Delta-C Al drill is available as a full part of the Sandvik Coromant Tailor Made programme in diameters 3 - 20mm, with or without internal cutting fluid supply and in five different drill types to suit a particular requirement.
