Multi-layer insert grade roughs tough SS
parts
Insert grade for turning stainless steel covers the major part of small batch production in stainless steel, offering excellent capability in roughing and intermittent machining.
A completely new grade, GC2025 consists of a new substrate with a unique mix of hardness and toughness combined with a unique MT-CVD multi-layer coating multi-layer that enables increased resistance to crack growth In addition, it reduces flaking, built-up edges and adhesions, resulting in a number of customer benefits

Tooling exhibit aimed at four key user sectors
Tooling exhibit to be based around the theme of "your industry, your business" with four key market sectors highlighted: mould and die, automotive, aerospace and general engineering.
These include an excellent capability in roughing and intermittent machining and offers the opportunity to machine with lower speeds near the centre as well as higher peripheral speeds.
Another benefit is improved performance when machining forged skin and in duplex stainless steel.
The new GC2025 optimised grade is available in up to 7 insert geometries covering the spectrum from finishing to roughing and in each of the established CoroTum 107and T-Max P programmes.
It is anticipated that GC2025 will find many applications in industry areas such as pump and flange manufacture, aerospace, couplings and the manufacture of equipment for the food industry.
