Flexible tooling benefits face grooving
operations
Combining Sandvik's CoroCut SL face grooving cutting blades with CoroTurn SL adaptors reduces the extensive amount of solid tool holders previously required for face grooving.
Sandvik Coromant has a new flexible tooling solution for face grooving operations which, by using CoroCut SL face grooving cutting blades combined with CoroTurn SL adaptors, significantly reduces the extensive amount of solid tool holders previously required This is an extension of Coromant's successful CoroCut SL and T-Max Q-Cut SL flexible tooling programme for parting and grooving operations, particularly aimed at small batch production environments

Cutting tool catalogue includes free methods CDs
A comprehensive catalogue of tools and methods for the die and mould making industry includes two free CDs - one containing a metal cutting data module to optimise cutting data.
In parting and grooving operations the tip-seat wears out much faster than tipseats designed for general machining.
By simply exchanging the blade using CoroTurn SL adaptors and blades it is possible to just replace the blade when the tip-seat is worn out, improving efficiency, saving costs and reducing the tooling inventory.
The blades are available in both right and left hand versions in B-curved design and are rapidly fitted either by means of a screw or spring clamp.
The adaptors are designed with a serrated interface for an extremely robust connection to the cutting blades, minimising vibration and deflection and comparable with a solid tool in performance.
This modular tooling solution is applicable for any parting and grooving operations and all cutting blades have been designed with a new feature which directs the cutting fluid directly to the cutting edge to optimise chip evacuation.
When external machining Coromant has designed an external coolant accessory to provide frictionless machining in parting and grooving operations.
