LifeSaver systems automatically alert colleagues

A SBES product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team May 27, 2005

LifeSaver systems automatically alert colleagues in the event of a worker falling, collapsing or being rendered unconscious, ensuring an immediate response.

Lone workers in small companies and isolated workers in large businesses can now benefit from high level emergency protection with the introduction of the Mini and Micro SBES LifeSaver systems.

Protection for lone workers is one of the primary areas of concern within the latest Health and Safety legislation, and bosses must demonstrate they are taking steps to protect those workers who may be isolated from colleagues or work alone.

The Mini and Micro SBES LifeSaver systems automatically alert colleagues in the event of a worker falling, collapsing or being rendered unconscious, ensuring an immediate response in the vital first few minutes following an incident.

The system includes a wireless alarm transmitter, worn by the worker in belt clip form and activated either automatically through a tilt sensor or manually via push button.

When activated the transmitter sends a signal indicating the wearer's identity and location.

The SBES LifeSaver Mini is a four zone system that accommodates up to four 'Lone Worker' wire-free alarm transmitters, with up to eight installed 'Help Points' or a combination of these as required.

The highly visible SBES Help Points are easily activated by anyone in trouble and use wire-free transmission with a 300m range for easy installation and relocation.

They are offered in break-glass or push-button versions, a ceiling-mounted pull-cord style and a splash-proof model.

The SBES LifeSaver Micro is a single zone system that offers a single worker protection on a fixed site.

Both the SBES LifeSaver Mini and Micro systems have been used successfully in offices, workshops, stores, gymnasiums, warehouses, farm buildings, airport fuelling bays, laboratories and plant rooms.

SBES has also achieved a world first in developing an Ex-rated version of the transmitter which can be used in potentially explosive environments such as workshops which contain flammable materials or solvents.

Alarm alert options offered with the SBES LifeSaver Mini and Micro systems include local area paging, auto-dialler to four telephone numbers and beacon sounders or a combination of any of these.

Each system is supplied complete including installation, training and documentation.

Optional pagers and beacon sounders can be added at very low cost and an optional rechargeable battery back-up unit will operate the system for at least eight hours in the event of power failure.
